Useful resources

The web is full of amazing and useful resource on growing plants. Many are partly applicable and some more or less fully applicable in the Illawarra context. Here are a few of the ones I find most useful. This page will grow and become more organised with time.

Growing Native Plants Guide - one of the best resources on growing native plants from around Australia, and particularly how they have performed in the Australian National Botanic Gardens.

Native Plants Guides - another very useful Australia-wide resources, developed by the Australian Plants Society.

Grow Local Native Plant Guide - a production of Wollongong, Shellharbour and Kiama Councils, a great little resource on growing some of the most widely available and appealing local native plant species

Illawarra Grevillea Park - their website has species listings, and the garden itself a great place to see lots of local and also many not-so-local native plants and cultivars

The Habitat Network - useful though Sydney-focused resource on creating habitat gardens

Birds in Backyards - an Australia-wide website with a focus on creating bird-attracting gardens

Frog and Tadpole Study Group of NSW - excellent range of publications on frogs, including on creating frog-friendly gardens.
